Of Sun and sands...

A few shots of a weekend a while ago, a day well spent...nothin in particular really; just random things that added flashes of colour to the miles and miles of sand.

Where the sea met the shore...

Message in a bottle...or not.

It was empty, but the song was stuck in my head for a while, so that was nice.

Cookies : )

Yup. Fruit flavoured water. What'll they think of next?!

What can I say, I'm a powderpuff at heart.

Keep smiling.

Free....as a bird.

Free, as a bird
It's the next best thing to me
Free as a bird
Home, home and dry
Like a homing bird I'll fly
Like a bird on wings
John Lennon (1940-1980)

Taken ridiculously early last Friday morning, it must've been about 6:30 AM....on our way to Ajman.

The sky was beautiful beyond measure and I think the birds had their own appreciation dance thing going on! We live in a beautiful and wonderful world...always so much to see, always so much to appreciate.

A lonely tree

I'm a little short of words today...
which for me is rather unusual.
Here is my version of a lonely tree...
and a beautiful sky.
I'm feeling like the tree today...

Home is where the heart is

Pat's earlier post got me thinking about this one.
The picture is of a place called Dona Paul in Goa...my home, my heaven.

Heaven

Heaven must be here!!

Love is all around us

So Valentines Day has passed us. I had the best time, hope you all did too.
But honestly, I've had a lot of lovely, special days with my special someone & I'm sure you have too. It's a warm feeling to know that you don't just need the 14th of Feb for a lil' romance isn't it?
May the flame of love burn bright in our hearts all year through!
Happy 15th of Feb!

A Whole New World

I can show you the world
Shining, shimmering, splendid
Tell me, princess, now when did
You last let your heart decide?

I can open your eyes
Take you wonder by wonder
Over, sideways and under
On a magic carpet ride

A whole new world
A new fantastic point of view
No one to tell us no
Or where to go
Or say we're only dreaming

Rainbow

Rainbows I adore…
With seven colours, it glows.
The earthly winds can blow
Yet, stands gorgeously the rainbow!

So close, yet so far away,
Standing tall and strong today.

I’ve rediscovered the rainbow of my life

Lonely soul

My lonely soul wanders
Alone in the walks of life
In search of something new
Something strange or something blue.

Flowers in February...

Something that Pats had posted on her Facebook group earlier this week got me thinking.
(chk it out - the group is called Home Dekor India - nice!)
Keeping with the Valentine spirit, it was a lot of really cute tips about how you can make Valentine's special in a lot of little ways and it doesn't necessarily need to burn a hole in your pocket.
Of all the things she mentioned, the point that stayed with me was about flowers. It need not be roses, it need not be an elaborate bunch - sometimes even a single bloom can convey so much. And I know all you women out there will be nodding your approval!

All right, I'll be fair, well-know fact - ladies LOVE flowers.
But look at those colours - do you really blame them?

But give a guy a flower and deep down...
somewhere under all that sports loving, macho-man exterior, there's going to be the softest, ever so hidden, blink 'n you'll miss it, 'awwww shucks!' moment.
I kid you not!
I have a friend who celebrated his anniversary last year and sent his wife a lovely bouquet. You should have seen his surprise when he got to work and saw that his wife had sent him one too! It was really cute. We teased him about it forever after that, but that's a different story.

Whether you're buying a bouquet, or even just a single flower, passing a pretty, colorful flower shop or a little patch of wild flowers on the road...they always warm the heart.
I passed this lovely flower shoppe in Prague and had to stop and take a few pictures...it was adorable and so quaint! As a result, dad bought mum 2 lovely daisies. What do you do, flowers just put you in that kinda mood I guess.

And if you're among the cynics, who believe that Valentine's Day is just an excuse to waste money on flowers that will eventually wilt and die...welcome to our world where you can buy 'forever flowers'. They're made of glass and are exquisite. In Europe, it's still roadside shopping. If you're a mall person, check out the nearest Swarovski outlet.
And you really thought Cupid wouldn't have come up with something for the likes of you!

But Pats is totally right, it's not about the roses and the candles and all that.
It's about doing little special things. And if you can manage 'special' with a few flowers, songs, teddy bears even, and that brings a smile on the face of the one you love;
more power to you, friend.
So till later, enjoy your Valentine planning, however small it may seem.
John Lennon knew what he was talking about when he sang, All you need is love!

Keep smiling.

One Wish

If I could have just one wish,
I would wish to wake up everyday
Knowing there is love in the air
And someone to hold my hand.
Here are some images from an email I received today!

What a wonderful world...

I see trees of green,
red roses too.
I see 'em bloom,
for me and for you.
And I think to myself.... what a wonderful world.

That's got to be one of the prettiest songs I know. And the way it's sung, in that lovely, deep voice - you can almost hear Louis Armstrong smile as he sings.

So in tribute to a great song and a far more beautiful sentiment behind it, here are a few shots from around the world.

May we all remember that there's always something to smile about and always something beautiful to take your breath away...even if it's just for a moment...
even if it's just 'coz of a cupcake.

And I think to myself ....
what a wonderful world

Yes I think to myself .......
what a wonderful world.

oh yeah.

Keep smiling.

A Chance

Take a chance
Lets do something new…
Hold someones hand
Or wipe away a tear

Laugh for no reason
Wear a new colour
Follow your heart
Trust your instincts

Count your blessings
Dare to be yourself
Capture the moment
Color your life.
